Health Acknowledgement & Disclaimers
This document explains what Preptide is, what it isn't, and what you're agreeing to when you order. We've written it as plainly as we could. If anything is unclear, please talk to us before subscribing.
1 · Health Acknowledgement
By ordering from Preptide, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You have read this Health Acknowledgement in full and understand it.
- You are at least 18 years old and ordering for yourself or someone for whom you have authority to make food decisions.
- You are responsible for understanding how your medications, medical conditions, allergies, or dietary requirements interact with the meals you order.
- You will consult your prescribing doctor, registered dietitian, bariatric team, or other qualified healthcare provider before making dietary changes, especially while using GLP-1 medications, after bariatric surgery, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, when managing diabetes, or when managing any other ongoing health condition.
- You will discontinue use and seek medical attention if you experience any adverse reaction, unusual symptom, or unexpected change in your condition that may be related to a Preptide meal.
2 · Preptide is food. It is not medical treatment.
The Preptide menu is organised into three "phases" — ON, TRANSITIONING, MAINTENANCE — which describe the type of person each menu was designed for. These phase names are descriptive, not prescriptive. They do not replace, supplement, or modify any medical treatment plan provided by a healthcare professional.
Specifically, Preptide:
- Does not treat obesity, diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, eating disorders, or any other medical condition.
- Does not prevent weight regain, reduce GLP-1 medication side effects, increase medication efficacy, or interact with any medication in a clinically meaningful way.
- Does not guarantee any specific health outcome, weight loss outcome, body composition outcome, or change in any biomarker.
- Is not a substitute for personalised medical or dietetic advice.
- Is not registered as a therapeutic good with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), nor is it required to be — because it is food.
3 · Consult your doctor before you start
Before placing your first order, we strongly recommend you:
- Tell your prescribing doctor you are starting a high-protein, calorie-controlled meal program.
- Show them the macro range for the phase you've been recommended (ON: 250–350 kcal / 30–40 g protein; TRANSITIONING: 350–500 kcal / 35–45 g protein; MAINTENANCE: 450–600 kcal / 40–50 g protein).
- Ask whether the program is appropriate given your current medication, dose, blood work, kidney/liver function, and any other clinical factors.
- Re-confirm with your doctor any time you change phase, increase or decrease your dose, taper, or come off your medication.
You can download a printable macro spec sheet to take to your appointment.
4 · Allergen statement
Allergen filters on our menu help you avoid meals where an allergen is a known intentional ingredient, but they cannot account for cross-contact during production. See the full allergen disclosure.
5 · Nutrition values are nominal
Caloric and macronutrient values shown on our menu, packaging, and dashboard are nominal targets per serving, calculated from standardised recipes and verified ingredient databases. Actual values may vary up to ±5% per batch due to natural variation in ingredient sizes and preparation. These values are not a substitute for individualised dietetic advice and should not be used as the sole input to any medically supervised diet plan.
6 · Sensitive health information
Information you provide during the phase quiz — including which medication you take, how long you've been on it, your appetite, and your weight-related goals — is classified as sensitive health information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
We collect this information only to:
- Match you to one of three meal phases.
- Personalise meal recommendations and macro targets within your account.
- Support you if you contact our customer care team about your subscription.
We do not share medication information with third parties for marketing, advertising, or analytics. We do not sell health information to anyone. We do not communicate with your prescriber, pharmacy, insurer, or any healthcare provider unless you direct us to in writing.
You can review, correct, withdraw consent, or request deletion of your health information at any time from your account dashboard or by contacting privacy@preptide.com.au. See the full Privacy Policy for our complete information-handling practices.
7 · Claims we do not make
Specifically, and to be unmistakeably clear, Preptide does not claim any of the following:
- That our meals will help you lose weight, gain muscle, prevent regain, or alter body composition in any specific way.
- That our meals reduce, prevent, or modify any side effect of GLP-1 medications, bariatric surgery, or any other treatment.
- That our meals are clinically equivalent to, or a substitute for, medication, surgery, or supervised medical nutrition therapy.
- That our menu is suitable for any specific medical condition without your prescriber's review.
Customer testimonials shared on our site reflect individual experiences. Outcomes vary based on dose, exercise, prescriber guidance, genetics, baseline health, and many other factors. Reviews are not typical results.
8 · Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Preptide Pty Ltd, its directors, employees, contractors, and partners are not liable for:
- Any health outcome, including but not limited to weight loss, weight gain, changes in body composition, or changes in any biomarker.
- Adverse reactions arising from undisclosed allergies, medication interactions, or pre-existing medical conditions.
- Outcomes that result from use of the meals contrary to your healthcare provider's advice.
- Any indirect, consequential, special, or exemplary loss arising from use of our products or services.
Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited (at our option) to the resupply of the goods or refund of the purchase price.
9 · Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this Health Acknowledgement, our Terms & Conditions, or any other Preptide document excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy available to you under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), including the consumer guarantees in Schedule 2 (the Australian Consumer Law), where to do so would be void.
You retain all rights provided to you as a consumer under Australian law, including (without limitation) the rights to goods of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and matching their description. If a Preptide product fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a refund or replacement and, where applicable, compensation for any reasonably foreseeable consequential loss or damage.
